Eva Performs Lead Role In Award-Winning Bedbuggers Screenplay Reading

Eva Petersson recently took part in a live celebrity table read at the 2026 Garden State Film Festival, following the selection of Bedbuggers as this year’s winning screenplay.

Held at The Berkeley Oceanfront Hotel in Asbury Park, New Jersey, the staged reading brought together a cast of established and emerging actors to perform the acclaimed script by playwright Tom Cavanaugh of The Actors Studio. Eva performed the lead role of Sierra, joining a line-up that included Eli Goss, Matthew Grossman and Apple Stewart.

Bedbuggers is a gritty coming-of-age drama inspired by true events. The story follows two siblings navigating life on the road with their estranged father, set against a backdrop of survival, identity and unconventional family bonds.

The Garden State Film Festival is widely recognised as one of New Jersey’s premier independent film events, with past participants in its live readings including industry legends such as Ed Asner and Diane Ladd.

Eva’s involvement in this year’s winning screenplay reading marks another strong step in her continued work across stage and screen, bringing complex, character-driven stories to life.
